Working hours per day = 7u36min instead of 8 hours

Rafik Bouizergane August 7, 2023

In Jira, 1 working day should be equal to 8 hours. We noticed that for some boards, 1 day = 7h36m. Does anyone have an idea how that is possible?

Hey @Rafik Bouizergane How did you solve that? :)

Hi @Utkarsh Singh

It went away on its own after rechecking.

Hi @Rafik Bouizergane

That is strange...I wonder if someone else made a change.

How many people are organization or site admins for your Jira site?  Have you asked the other people about their recent changes and/or looked at the site audit log for changes?

Kind regards,
Bill

I've seen this before, it was all about clashing admins.

Default to 40h working week, an inexperienced admin didn't realise it was a global setting, and set it to a 35h week for a project.

Another project spotted it, but it flxed itself when the admin realised what he'd done, or anyone else noticed it!

I checked and no one made any adjustments. So I don't know how that came about. But whatever, the problem is solved

7h36m means a 38 hours work week.

Can you check the Time Tracking menu in your Jira's global settings?

There you can set the amount of working hours per day. I don't think it can be set at the board level.
