Will it works: 2000 Jira license and 10 000+ plugin license?

Anastasia April 11, 2018

Good day!
In our company we started to reduce our expenses. And we have understood that we didn't need so many Jira license. In the summer we want to upgrade Jira version but downgrade quantity of the license from 10 000+ to 2000.
And now we have a question: what will be with the old plugins with 10000+ licence (we have no need to upgrade some plugins) and 2000 Jira license? Will it still works?

Thank you!

Hi @Anastasia

If the user tier of the add-on license is higher than the Jira license, this will work.

I had the situation already. Jira will not even complain. :)

Cheers

You'll  be able to save money by downgrading the tier of the add-on as well.

Somehow related to this. There is a feature request raised to Atlassian since 2016 which "recently" in 2019 passed to "into consideration" state, which is about allowing to have a different (smaller) amount of licenses.

If you are still interested in this, the good news is that there is already a Feature Request in Atlassian's Jira which is currently "Under Consideration".

Add your vote to this feature to let know Atlassian that this is something really wanted!
