Why would i have 2 Release Version History fields in the custom field list

I have two custom fields named Release Version History. Any idea why? Is there any reason I can't delete one?

Hi Joe,

Old post, I assume you have found the answer. Someone created the custom field twice. JIRA does not prevent users from creating multiple custom fields with the same name. I know some people have taken advantage of this - but it is likely to cause confusion.

I would suggest you look at the Field Configurations, Screens and do JQL searches using the customfield ID to ensure both are not being used before deleting one, you do not want to accidently remove valid data.
