There is no button to add a column to my board. I am the only user of the project and it is a free project. I am using a Kanban board.
Hi @Dave Burrells ,
Welcome to the community.
Only board administrators or system administrators can add columns in the board.

Hi @Dave Burrells,
First of all check whether your project is next-gen or a classic project. In next-gen you have this option to add a column to your board:
In a classic project, columns on the board are managed in a different way. You need to get into Board Configuration from the Boar Setting of your board, in the top right corner:
Once you are in there, you add columns by mapping statuses to columns. For guidelines on how to do that, see Atlassian documentation.
And also what @Ollie Guan_携程 is saying.

I have a classic project but I dont have these options. Could it be because I am in a free version of JIRA?
