When I use the 'Jira for Excel' add-in I sometimes get duplicate rows in my target sheet. Even when I clear everything in the sheet before reloading data from Jira, the plugin returns duplicate rows.
It isn't just random duplicate rows; when there are duplicates, it is consistently the complete results appended consecutively in the sheet.
An additional oddity is that the results are sometimes correct, and it is one result, but sometimes it is two complete sets and even four complete sets of the results.
I have to exactly the same issue. You can literally divide values by half and get the correct answer.
I have tried all of the above. I also used a new sheet altogether. After a few refreshes it happened again to the new sheet. Now I have to start from scratch every time and change pivot table sources etc
Very frustrating
Yes, it is very time-consuming for me to set up the set of fields and order of fields when starting with a fresh workbook. And then, as you mentioned, fix up the formula and pivot table references for the data for the new sheet.

I encountered the same problems with my sheets to Google sheets connector. I noticed that in the connector plug-in window, I had previously selected quite a few fields (around 30) and this issue keeps happening. I then tried reducing the number to a few key columns (around 19) and this issue doesn't recur. YMMW but I thought you might want to check this and see if this addresses the issue until a more permanent fix is provided by the plug-in providers.

I've noticed it happens to me only when I have the Updated field as part of my columns. Maybe it's showing a register for every time the issue is updated?

Same for me, this is super aggravating

I also experience the same thing. Despite excluding the 'Updated' field or select less than 10 fields, the issue still occurs. My workaround is using Google Sheet feature 'Data Cleanup' to remove duplicates.
This issue needs to be resolved, some people using 'Jira Cloud for Sheets' extension to do some analysis.

Thanks - What i do now is I whack sheet 1 so it's empty, then select A1 and refresh. Seems to work

Hello, it happend the same to me until I found that I was adding "Comment.Updated" instead of "Updated". I changed it and the duplicated rows dissapeared.
I hope I have helped you.

I am also encountering this issue with https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/jira_cloud_for_sheets/1065669263016

@Mark Ericson I would suggest submitting an support ticket to the vendor of the app https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221301/jira-cloud-for-excel-official?tab=support&hosting=cloud

@Mark Ericson If you are just using the delivered product then it is not an add in. Can you share some steps and screenshots of what you are doing when this issue occurs?

It is an Excel add-in provided by Atlassian. I click refresh and sometimes I get one copy of the results, in the sheet, sometimes two copies, and sometimes four copies. When I get multiple copies I get a new header and all the rows each time.

@Mark Ericson can you provide the steps that you are taking. Example:
Are you using the same sheet multiple times and is that when it adds additional rows, when refreshing data?

The data for my JQL query is currently about 2149 rows. For months, this has worked just fine.
A few weeks ago, I started getting duplicate results in my sheet. Currently, I am seeing Jira loading four sets of the same data, each with its header row.

@Mark Ericson Once you connect the sheet you should just be able to refresh the data. What happens if you use a new Excel file and connect to the data? Do you only get one set of data? What happens when you refresh?

@Brant Schroeder After a few refreshes, the duplicate behavior starts occurring. It is time-consuming to start with a new Excel file because I need to construct the query and the set of fields and order I need to be returned in Excel. At least the JQL is cut & paste; I can't say the same for the included Fields and order.
