Why do I need to put a zero in front of a decimal when trying to track time?

Hello,

I was wondering why when using time tracking, I can't just put .25h instead of having to use 0.25h?

If I use .25 I get the "Your estimate must be in the format 2w 4d 6h 45m

My settings:

Hi @Tim Perrault

This defect was apparently introduced with the prior, "new issue view" changes from over four years ago (and is related to another one from over 10 years ago).  The defect timed-out and was closed.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-75627

Kind regards,
Bill

Thanks @Bill Sheboy

I couldn't find any information when I went to look for it, but honestly only did a couple of google searches before I gave up. I appreciate you taking the time to find it.

Hi @Tim Perrault I can reproduce the same behavior in my instance, so I don't think it's something you are doing incorrectly.  I would say that's how the feature currently works.  I took a quick look at Atlassian's Jira Site and didn't see anything that resembled this specific issue.

It sounds to me like a reasonable request.  I catch myself doing it sometimes too.  You can enter a suggestion out there for Atlassian to consider. If you can enter a ticket and list out how you'd like the functionality, and reply here with the number.  I'll probably vote for it too if you can enter it.

Hope the helps.
