Edited

Hello everybody,

i need your help. We set up a Jira Project and a BigPicture Programm. Two different user with the same permission - but one cant see the issues in the BigPicture Gantt Chart, but the whole project in the Jira Project.

Where is the mistake?

Hello everybody,

i got support from bigpicture directly.

Following answer:

Could you please check if users that cannot see tasks can enter tasks details in Jira:

  • if not, most likely they are missing Browse projects permission (permission related to Jira projects),
  • if yes, please clear permissions cache in Technical Info section of the plugin's configuration.

In my case it was the permission cache.

Best,
Christopher

Hi All,

This is the bug in Big picture plugin.

If we set the date range in Gantt view, then it is also being applied to board view ...which is logically not correct.

It should be applicable only to Gantt view, and there should not not be any impact on board view.

But since the date range is also being applied to board view, hence the other issues are not visible in board view (if we set the date range to small period)

So., if you set the date rage properly in to see all issues, then everyone one see all issues (provided the users have same permissions to the boards/project that being used in bigpicuture board at (Big picture board --> Settings--> Tasks-->Scope definition--> Automatic rules)).

For Bigpicture plugin vendor:

In order fix this issue either by providing new date range functionality in board view or remove the date range connectivity between Gantt view and board view.

Hi @Reddeppa

Thank you for your comment.

Unfortunately, I have to inform you that this is a result of the tool design. If you navigate to the Date Range Filters wiki page, you will see the following information:

image.pngIn conclusion, the applied filter allows the user to see the respective content of the Box across all modules. If you wish to see the full content of your Box, the filter setting needs to be discarded first.

I hope that this clarifies.

do you use some filters, that are not shared with user2?

create a support ticket at the addon Vendors site.

Hi @Alexander Pappert

I am not sure that I understand your note in full. However, if your Scope Definition is based on an existing JQL filter, it is required to grant access to this filter to all users who will access the respective program. Otherwise, it will be impossible for the tool to display the tasks returned by the filter.

I hope that this clarifies.
