When copying content from a Rally ticket (or other location with markup) and pasting into Jira, users are unable to save the pasted content.
It seems to occur when any content that is copied cannot be fully resolved because the location is behind a secure location.
Eg; URL is in a test region
or an image is served from a location that requires credentials to access the image location.
This may also be related to the broken URL resolver is trying to resolve or display inline and cannot resolve. aka smart links.
@Brad Ranks Welcome to the Atlassian community
Do you have a URL that you can share so I can try and recreate the issue?
Unfortunately, the URLs that seem to have the issue are all behind a login. So, even though the content is pasted, something on your side seems to be "wanting" to get to the original source.
I imagine it is trying to pull in style or something, but it should fall back on plain text or even RTF.
Most of when it happens is from another system like Rally, Asana, Trello, or any any of those better systems out there.
Not sure why there is always such a huge fight with Atlassian products to just do the basics, without the "fancy, developer infused bloat", that causes breakage, frustration and just general hate towards the product and company.
I would love to see you guys get over that hump and take off!
Let me know whaat else I can provide, as the URLs won't do you any good, because you can't get to them.
I am happy to paste the contents into a few different doc types so you can see how the same "paste" interacts with everything else, and maybe that will get you to the aha moment.
Please just let me know.
