Why audit log does not capture changes made to Field configurations?

Jacob Rajesh December 13, 2019

We have few users have admin permissions and we noticed someone has changed one of the field from optional to Required and removed the field from few of the projects, When I tried to see the activity in Audit log, I could not find that,  I could see the changes made to user group, roles, project release dates but not anything related to field configurations.

Could you please help on this?

Hello Jacob,

Thank you for reaching out.

Indeed, the Audit Log of Jira application does not contain any information about field configuration updates, however, we clearly understand how useful this information is to troubleshoot issues when you have a high number of site-admins.

That being said, we created the following feature request to add the field configuration updates in Jira Audit log:

JIRA Administration Audit trail / notifications - Including: JRACLOUD-41884

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

Let us know if you have any questions.
