I am trying to filter the data based on the query (screenshot attached). In query as depicted, My project is selected but there are no issues filters based on Sprint. What could be the issue here? This is occurring only on sub-tasks as issue type. Please refer screenshots for better clarity.
Please note that Sprint Id 14 is SPRK Sprint 2.
Please help why is it not filtering data based on sprints and issue type = subtask
Hello @Hamza A. Siddiqui ,
Welcome to the Community. I hope you're doing well.
The issue you have is with the Issue Type name.
While you can use "Subtask" what you need is to filter by "Sub-task"
You can also do the following:
sprint = 10 and issuetype in (Subtask, Sub-task)
Thank you.

I did the same but adding the sprint in query won't retrieve the results. What's the issue then?

Hi @Hamza A. Siddiqui ,
Thank you for your update. I hope you're doing well.
From the latest screenshot, I see that you are now targeting a different project, your latest screenshot shows
project = Spark
But on your first screenshots, you mentioned that this sub-task is under "SPRK" project, not "Spark"
Please double-check and confirm.
Thank you.
Hector

Thanks for quick response, the project name mentioned in both screenshots are same they results in similar results.

Hi @Hamza A. Siddiqui ,
You're welcome.
That's interesting.
Can you access the issue SPRK-325? I think you can as it is shown on your first screenshots.
So you have access to that one.
Then, it's either a different type, not Subtask or Sub-task.
Now, I've reviewed your screenshot that shows SPRK-325 and indeed that is not a sub-task.
The icon that it shows under "Type" it's the icon for Tasks.
Thank you, and have a great day.

Hi @Hector Florin
I wanted to follow up regarding the icons shown in the screenshots above; they appear to be related to subtasks. It seems there may be an internal issue preventing me from fetching my subtasks using the sprint parameter.
I’m currently exploring alternative approaches to meet my search criteria.
Thank you for your assistance.

welcome to the community!
It's been raised recently that for sub-tasks from team-managed projects, JQL searches based on sprints don't seem to work. This looks like a bug to me, and should probably be raised with Atlassian.
Is SPRK a team-managed project?
It's worth noting that sub-tasks are a bit special, in that they always "inherit" the sprint from their parent issue. I could imagine that our bug is somehow related to this this special behaviour.
Best,
Hannes

... and just to add to the above: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, your use case would be easy to solve using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Plus, filtering sub-tasks by their sprint works as expected, for company-managed as well as team-managed projects. This is how it looks in action:
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Hi @Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira ,
Thank you for your response. I confirmed that my project, 'SPRK,' is a team-managed project, so it seems this may be a bug that needs to be addressed by Atlassian.
I appreciate your suggested approach and will explore it, along with other alternatives, to get my work done.
Thanks again for your help!
