Why I can't create new BigPicture Program?

Kirill Timofeev May 23, 2018

Hi everyone.

After updating BigPicture to the latest version (on the JIRA Server) I can't create new Programs.Steps to reproduce:

  1. Press "Add new Program" button;
  2. Choise "Create Program from scratch";
  3. Press "Next" button;
  4. Press "3. Scope data" button;

After step 4 I get the next error messages:

  1. "No permission to create task, Missing additional permissions to view, create, manage or assign issues or links" OR
  2. "Missing additional permissions to view, create, manage or assign issues or links, No permission to create task"

The same way:

  1. Press "Add new Program" button;
  2. Choise "Use configuration of existing Program";
  3. Choise an existing Program;
  4. Press "Next" button;

After step 4 I get nothing (see a screenshot).

And finally, I don't understand, why I can't choose next steps in BP Program Wizard:

  • Clone existing Program
  • Evaluate with sample data

My team was able to resolve this.  We had to update our Default Permission scheme to add in the Project Leader role to assign and create issues.  Once that was done and the browser closed/reopened this error was gone.

Thanks, Ray.

I will put some more info about this:

  1. Go to https://<your JIRA URL>/secure/admin/EditPermissions!default.jspa?schemeId=0
  2. Press at Grant permission button.
  3. Choose the next options: Create Issues, Assignable User, Assign Issues, Link Issues
  4. Press at Show more
  5. Chose Project Lead and press Grant button
