Where is issue-picker in jira 4.3?

This was there in the Jira 3.X but looks like the field type nolonger exists. I this field to work like a user-picker field where the users drop-down when you start typying. Anyone how a workaround to this?

Can you provide more details as to what part of JIRA (i.e. which screens etc..) this issue picker was in?

In the current version of JIRA there are numerous places where the issue picker exists. This picker provides auto-completion of issues so not sure which part you are referring to, is missing.
