What is the concept of blocks or blocked by between two issues in jira?

I need to understand the concept of blocks and blocked by link between two issues in jira

1 answer

Simply put, this is a relation between the two issues, in which one depends in some way on the other.  Eg. you have tickets:

  • XYZ-1 Research ABC
  • XYZ-2 Implement ABC

You could say that XYZ-2 is blocked by XYZ-1, because you don't want to start implementation of feature ABC until research is done.

Thanks Sebastian for the clear answer of this.

This is very much clear now.
