What are the Issue Links added by Jira Product Discovery?

Recently I discovered this post, suggesting that issue links like "Polaris datapoint issue link"  are related to Product Discovery.  I assume so are the other Polaris types "Polaris issue link" and "Polaris merge issue link", but I'm not finding documentation to support it.

We're having some use-case conflicts due to previously created links that are very similar.

What are all of the issue link types added by PD?

Is there documentation of all modifications (custom fields, issue link types, etc) that PD makes to a system when installed?

Thanks!

Erin

Hi @Erin Quick-Laughlin ,

This recent post might help with understanding the Polaris issue links a bit more.

Specifically for the "Polaris issue link" - when a delivery ticket is created by a JPD idea,

  • the delivery "implements" the idea
  • the idea "is implemented by" the delivery

For example:

As for the "Polaris datapoint issue link" and "Polaris merge issue link," I believe those are only for the direction of Jira >> JPD, and linking ideas to issues manually within the Jira issue.

As mentioned in the doc above, the Polaris issues links cannot be disabled without removing JPD entirely, but they can be modified under the Issue linking tab. "The only way to remove the issue links would be to deactivate JPD entirely which wouldn't be ideal in case if you're using JPD."
