View setup in Jira

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the view setup in Jira. In my account, I can see a board layout where issues are organized into columns, making it easy to track tasks (e.g., Backlog, Urgent, Sales, Marketing, etc.). However, one of my colleagues, who is a team member on the same project, sees the tasks differently. Her view seems to be based on a list of issues rather than the column/board layout that I have, and she doesn't even have the 'Board' option available.
Does anyone know why there might be this discrepancy in views between our accounts? Could it be related to permissions, roles, or settings? Any guidance on how to enable the board view for her would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Tinatin Bonney and welcome to the Community,

it could be a couple of things

A) she doesn't have a Jira Software License (that shouldn't be an issue anymore, as Jira Work Management and Jira Software have been moved together)

B) she doesn't have permissions to the Board

Is it correct, that you are on a Free Plan for Jira? That takes away most project Permission issues , as you cannot restrict projects in the free version.

You could provide a screenshot of the Side Nav Bar that you see and that your colleagues sees - maybe that will give us some further hints.

It is a Free Plan. This is the view only one has, everyone else simply cannot get it.
