Using the JIRA Configuration Tool to connect to an SQL instance

timrmoore July 12, 2011

I'm tring to connect the new installation to a blank DB, but the config tool doesn't seem to like me adding the SQL instance onto the hostname srting (i.e. LONDBSQLSYS2/IT where IT is the instance).

I note in the manual instructions that instances are supported. Is there a way to configue the instance through the tool or do I have to go through the manual route?

Sorry I meant after the Database name. Add something like JIRA;instance=INST

Where JIRA is the database name

Great, Thanks Richard

This should be added to the config db guide. Reference to an instance is there for the manual config instructions.
