Using 'autocomplete renderer' in multi-select custom-field on Jira OnDemand

Justin Schumacher September 25, 2012

Is there a way to use the 'autocomplete renderer' (like what the 'components' field uses) with my custom fields (of type multi-select)?

I have searched the forums for answers on this, and there are javascript based solutions posted (such as https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/84612/how-to-add-auto-complete-rendere-to-any-custom-field) -- but such solutions don't work with OnDemand as javascript injection is disabled.

The documentation seems to imply that the autocomplete renderer is usable for custom fields, but this doesn't appear to be the case:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Renderers

Looks like there is already a ticket here:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-23013

In the mean time, is there no work around for OnDemand? The default multi-select renderer takes up way too much screen real-estate.

Hi, yes, in the meantime there is no workaround for OnDemand. OnDemand is a platform with a lot of restrictions but also lots of benefits.

If OnDemand does not suit you, you'll have to find a 3rd party hosted solution instead.

Is there still no workaround?
