We have sent invitations to a number of users. The recipients have accepted the invites and logged into Jira. Some have even opened issues (but not made any edits). The problem is that their status for these users still appears as 'Invited' instead of 'Active' in the Administration portal. This is a problem because I need to login as some of these new users to help configure their accounts.
What action needs to be taken by me, or the user, to trigger their account status to update to 'Active'? Do they need to edit an issue to be considered an 'Active' user, or will the status just update on its own within a specified time period?

I'm not sure if there's an official note regarding this, but from my experience account status is not changed immediately as the user logs in to their account. From what I've seen, it takes a while - from a couple of hours to more than 24 hours for account status to be changed in admin.atlassian.com 😕
Not sure if there's an open suggestion related to this improvement. I've made a quick scan on JAC but didn't find anything relevant, but I would suggest that you take another look as well.
