User Picker error when importing a CSV file.

When validating a CSV file for Import I am receiving the following Error: 

Issue can't be created due to the error/s [ One or more of the selected users do not exist or are not valid for this user picker.; 

I am using my name in the Assignee field. I am defined as an Administrator for this Project. What is the issue and how do I resolve it so I can import the CSV file to the Project?

Hi Steve - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Use the email address of the user in Jira - you can't just put a name in there. In the past I have been able to use a "username", but I don't think that works anymore either - it has to be a full email address of the user.

Are you using the old import functionality or the new import functionality?

Whey you say you are using you "name" do you mean...?

1. your name as it displays in the user picker field
2. the name (email) you use to login to Atlassian Cloud

I haven't done a test yet, but I'm pretty sure you need to use either #2 or the hexadecimal Account ID associated with your Atlassian Cloud account.

When importing fields that hold users, like assignee and reporter, the system needs you to use the email address.
