Hello,
Trying to find the best way to accomplish this upgrade.
Is it possible to upgrade straight from 8.1 to 9.11? Or are there any stage upgrade I need to do before jumping to 9.11? Like going from 8.1 to 9.0 and then to 9.11.
Also, I haven't been able to find a resource that tells me what version of Java, Apache, and MySQL I will need to upgrade to.
Thank you
Hi @LM and welcome,
you can upgrade directly. Please take a look to the following guide https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/upgrading-jira-applications-938846936.html
Because of a change in indexing management, make sure to perform the following steps as post processing https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/upgrading-from-8-x-to-9-x-index-changes-1168845946.html
Fabio
Hi Fabio,
Thank you for the guides.
This will be the first time for me working with Jira.
These are the current versions of our environment for Jira:
Jira: 8.1.0
Java: 1.8.0_181
DB: MySQL 5.5.45-MariaDB
Apache: 8.5.35
MySQL connector java mysql-connector-java-5.1.47
Do we have to upgrade them post Jira upgrade? if so, where can I find the versions that they should be running to be compatible?
On the second document you provided, I see that MySQL should be 5.7.34 but I don't see any other information regarding the other applications.
Thank you again for the help.
