Hello @andrea schneider
The upgrade documentation for 10.3.x does not specifically indicate that it is possible to upgrade to it from 8.x.x.
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/jira-software-10-3-x-upgrade-notes-1472791008.html
I would be extremely wary of doing such a direct upgrade, skipping an entire major release version - 9.x.x. I would recommend doing your upgrade in stages instead.
There are platforms that you may be using with 8.2.2 that stopped being supported in a release prior to 10.3.0 or cease to be supported with 10.3.0. You need to account for the need to upgrade you platform components.
There are numerous "breaking" changes listed in the 10.3.0 upgrade notes. There may have been numerous breaking changes in the upgrades between 8.2.2 and 10.3.0 also.
Whether you choose to upgrade in stages or directly, I strongly recommend that you set up a replica test environment that matches your production environment and test the upgrade(s) there first.
Hi Trudy
Thanks for your reply. I will try the upgrade to the latest 9.xx release first then. Let's see what happens.
Best regards,
Andrea
