Update fields in JSM ticket when Story field value changes

Sajith Jayaratne January 14, 2025 edited

Hi all,

I am trying to automate field information from a JIRA story ticket in JIRA to a change ticket in JIRA Service Management,

The main story has a linked issue (which is linked by 'has action item') which points to the change ticket in JSM.

I have created an automation rule to set the 'change completion date' in JSM when the same field in the story ticket changes.

However, when I run the rule, I am being told that there is 'no related issues could be found'

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hey Sajith,

From the branch screenshot, I see that your rule scope is set to the Jira project XB2B only. So the rule will only be able to edit the issues from this project.

Please go to Rule Details and change it to Global so it can edit the fields in the JSM project as well.

You may also select the "Multiple Projects" option in the rule scope, and select specific Jira and JSM projects involved.

I hope this helps!

Thanks,

Karan

Hi Karan!

That's beautiful and it worked perfectly. Thank you. I didn't realise that there was a scope and even slightly more complicated to make the change but got there!

Thank you so much!

Saj
