Custom URL Field

- when I enter in a URL, it pastes the entire URL. I want it shortended to the actual URL page name (exactly what happens when I paste the link to the description).

Why does the URL custom field display the full URL, how can I get it to display the name

Example:

I don't want www.sharepoint.com/t/5/f/v/jashdfjlhdjgkhdfhjkefh

I want

The custom url field is for displaying URL's only. Additionally, the link you posted is to Sharepoint, which does not have native integration into the Atlassian suite, so it cannot authenticate to load the URL and determine the page title. There may be an add-on for this, however the behavior you are looking for can only be achieved with a true integration like Jira+Confluence.

You could also use a different type of field that allows for markdown or HTML, and use the proper markdown or html tags to create the vanity link yourself, but I dont think you want to go through that much effort :)
