Up until last week or so, Jira's notification settings had an option to turn off notifications for tickets you're the reporter on (in other words, the tickets you set up). Now the option doesn't seem to be in the settings anymore, and my team is being inundated with notifications for tickets they set up but are no longer responsible for. Did this option move to another place, or are there plans to revive this option? It's making our work much less efficient.
Hello @Andy Newton

@Trudy Claspill Thank you for pointing me to this article. I've left a comment on the post detailing the issues my organization is having with their latest update. Unfortunately, preventing users from defining what tickets are relevant to them was an intentional choice by Atlassian. Not sure why they would take away users' ability to customize their notifications and then call it an improvement. Hopefully they realize they were operating under faulty assumptions about how people use their product, and they'll rectify the problem.

Members of my team do CSV file loads into Jira, this causes them to be the reporter on thousands of issues. They do not want notifications every time one of those tickets is changed. The old settings allowed user to turn off notifications if they are the reporter. I don't see that options anymore?? This is not an improvement :(

So, we now need to inform all our users to disable the setting on their own profiles.
Is there a way to set a default notification setting for all users?
We don't want users to be notified if they make changes to an issue - they made the change, they know about it.
Can I apply this globally?

@Trudy Claspill can you please clarify how can I disable the notifications for a single ticket I have created?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Please start a new Question post and provide the full details of your scenario.
Generally speaking you cannot disable notifications for an individual issue. But if you start a new Question and provide all the details then somebody in the community at large may have an idea to share.
