Tracking progress of Epic

Hi,

Is there a way to track the progress of an EPIC? A JQL may be?

In my organization, the EPIC is created and different team creates their JIRA and relates them to this EPIC. Now eaach JIRA has it's own sub task or FTs.

I need to figure out a way to track the entire progress of the EPIC. Anyways possible to see the progress of different task related to an EPIC?

Hello,

To see it better, you would need a plugin like Big Picture or Structure Gant.

Or, even Structure alone (without the Gantt extension)  ;)

Let us know if you have any questions about Structure for Jira, @Anand Vardhan

Is this a paid tool?

HI, Anand. Yes. It's a paid app. But it's also priced to be very cost-effective.

@Dave Rosenlund _Trundl_ Could you please tell us more about the 'Risks' field and its values are shown on the screenshot?

Our organization is using Structure plugin, and it'd be useful to show this kind of info!

Thanks ahead,

Maksim

Hi Maksim,

Let me answer this. Risk field is a result of Structure formula, you can calculate it whichever way you want and add your own visualization. Here are a few documents that describe it:

https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Formulas

https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Wiki+Markup+in+Formula+Columns

https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Wiki+Markup+Advanced+Examples

Basically, it can be anything from comparing original and remaining estimate, or just checking if dueDate is less than 3 days in the future. All depends on your own workflow.

Hi Egor,

Thank you for the response. It's useful information/links you've provided.

But we're on Cloud version, and all your info is for the Server/DC.

Anyway, could you share your roadmap about the implementation of that functionality for the Cloud solution? Or maybe there's already something similar that exists on a cloud? It'd be very helpful to know.

Thank you in advance,

Maksim

Hi Maksim,

Structure Cloud is indeed limited compared to our Structure for Server/DC, because of different API we have to build app from scratch.

Here is Structure Cloud roadmap

Formula columns is there, but not wiki markup specifically, as it will take some time to implement formula columns themselves.

Egor

Thanks for the provided info, Yegor.

I hope that someday Structure Cloud will have this wide functionality as the Server version has.

The roadmap looks pretty impressive BTW!)

Also, looking forward to trying the Structure.Gantt Cloud as well.

Best,

Maksim
