Time reporting in Jira Premium

kristian_sinclair_veum November 11, 2024

Hi,

We use Jira standard now and have used time tracker lite. We see that time tracker lite will be merged to tempo in february. We're considering to upgrade to Jira premium. Does the premium version include something similar to time tracker lite, or will we have to subscribe for Time Tracker Tempo to cover those needs?

Thanks!

Kristian

Hello @kristian_sinclair_veum ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

There's no difference between the time tracking features in Jira Standard versus Jira Premium.  If you're looking for an enhanced experience on time tracking, a Marketplace App like Tempo is probably the way to go.

Hi @kristian_sinclair_veum

Welcome to the community !!

As an alternate, you may want to try out our app for time tracking.

Worklogs Time Tracking & Timesheets

With this add-on, you can easily view time entries for multiple issues day wise grouped by in a single view. The app allows to filter/Categorize/Group your worklogs data and a timesheet view too to track individual time spent. And what's more it can be easily added as a dashboard gadget.

(Disclaimer: I work for RVS, the vendor for this app)

Hi @kristian_sinclair_veum  and welcome to the community!

As others have mentioned in this post, the best approach is to use available marketplace solutions to log time in a way similar to the Time Tracker app.

One such solution is an app called Worklogs - Time Tracking and Time Reports, which was developed by SolDevelo, the company I represent.

In the app you can display various data like projects, users, logged time, original estimates, different sprints etc.. There are many possibilities how you can filter the report and what’s the best is that we constantly improve our app. This is an example from the app:

The app is very easy to use. and currently it's a bestseller in the Atlassian marketplace when it comes to the time tracking apps.

I encourage you to try our app because you don't pay anything for the first 30 days anyway.

We are also happy to answer any questions about our application. Feel free to contact via portal here, or if you prefer a meeting you can book a demo session with us here.

Kind regards,
Michał

Hi @kristian_sinclair_veum ,

If you're in need of a time tracking app to use after upgrading Jira to premium, I recommend WorklogPRO-Timesheets for Jira. It’s a great option for managing and tracking your work hours. WorklogPRO offers a hierarchical grouping feature that enhances how you view and analyze work logs. This feature allows you to categorize and view the hours logged by users at various levels, such as by user, project, issue, or issue type.
