The field "Story Points" is in the issues view only visible if a value was entered. At the moment one has to click the Edit button and then scroll down to the story point field.
It would be desirable to have this field always be visible. This would make it easier to update the story points directly.
I'm afraid that's by design - empty fields are not shown in Jira, to keep the display less busy.
You'll need to raise this as a feature request with Atlassian, as it requires some code change in the core, although I am sure there is already an issue for it (but I've not got that one bookmarked).
