The default assignee does NOT have ASSIGNABLE permissions

Andrea Morgan July 18, 2012

Hi,

We've started using Jira OnDemand and are experiencing the above error when some users attempt to create a new issue. It seems to be a bug as everything looks ok from a role and permissions perspective and we have cured the problem by assiging the project lead to a different user and then back to the original user.

However, doing things like adding custom fields to the Create Issue screen makes the problem come back.

Normally this comes when the project lead or component leads doesn't have ASSIGNABLE permission. Check Component leads as well if you have any.

Thanks Jobin, I have three components within the Project and I hadn't set the default assignee for any of them. I've done this and the users are now merrily creating new issues.
