Hi everyone. How do I get reports/filters where I have a view of the time spent broken into team members and specific jira tasks/stories (some of which aren't assigned to them). The best I can do right now is 'worklogauthor = xx' in the filter, and it gives me a list of tasks that user has logged time against in my time range, but what it fails to show me is the number of hours spent per task on a daily basis by the user. It just shows the total time logged against that task, regardless of who has logged it.

I would ideally like to have something that I don't need to install a plug in for, but if thats the only option, pls suggest the plugins that have this capability (ideally free).

Thanks

Hey there!

ActivityTimeline could be a great fit for this. It allows you to generate reports that break down time tracking by individual team members, showing the time spent per task and giving you a daily view of their logged hours. You can filter the reports by various criteria, and it will show you not just the total time, but how much time was logged each day.

You can view the time entries by user, project, and even sub-tasks. Use pre-created templates or the 'Custom' tab in the left panel to group data by any Jira custom field:

Here's a link to Help Center, where you can find a tutorial on AT timesheets. If you'd like to learn more about how ActivityTimeline can help with this, feel free to request a quick demo call with our support managers. Hope this helps!

Hi @Archana ,

Timesheet view is the one of the best way to show the number of hours spent per issue on a daily basis by the user. I can recommend WorklogPRO for creating a customizable timesheet report. Thanks to WorklogPRO's hierarchical grouping feature, you can group worklogs by users (worklog authors) and projects, and display the total time spent on each issue in the corresponding column, with the daily time spent shown in the relevant date cell.

Hi @Archana

Welcome to the community!

You might consider using time-tracking apps that in most cases have a customizable report of tracked time on issues.

I can recommend our Clockwork Automated Time Tracking & Timesheets Pro or Lite app, which allows you to track time for individual users across the projects, and this data using timesheets and create reports that can be configured in various ways using break-down and filtering options.

Using timesheets, you can create a report and filter it based on several options including, projects, issue types, issues labels, or other fields. You can choose a range for a whole year and break down the data by chosen fields. This information can be also exported to Excel files.

Please find below the sample of how the timesheet looks like:

@Archana

have you explored the option of using JIRA REST APIs to extract the worklogs and then do the reporting on the data?

Check the link for details on how to use a rest API for this purpose.
