Hello everyone,
We have recently started using Jira as our project tool.
I create a task with 4 sub-tasks there every week so that the backup is completed.
I have already read various online tutorials and also the official documentation of
Jira. Unfortunately, these documents always have an older version than
our Jira.
I have already tried to do this myself, but unfortunately I always fall into traps.
I tried to do it via an automation, but unfortunately it didn't want to
not create the subtasks exactly in this task and ran into an error.
Now I had split it into two automations
and filtered out the correct tasks using an SQL query, I had
thought. Unfortunately, it then also opened these subtasks in various other tasks.
I then had to delete them manually.
I took a screenshot of this task so that you can see what I would like.
I'm hoping that someone can show me the automation rule so that I can copy it, so to speak.
Unfortunately we have not received any training on Jira or similar.
If you need any additional information, just let me know.
Greetings,
Rongse.
P.S. It is the cloud version of Jira.
@Julian Gonser , the automation below creates a task on a weekly schedule, and then creates 4 subtasks with that task as a parent (I've only shown 1, but the other 3 are the same just with different summaries and descriptions

Hi @Julian Gonser -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I am glad to learn Stephen's suggestion helped. And, you described this in your question:
I have already read various online tutorials and also the official documentation of

our Jira.
Which documentation were you reading? The current Jira Cloud, automation documentation seems up to date:
Kind regards,
Bill

No worries, as some of the Atlassian documentation can be challenging to confirm which features work with a specific version of automation rules. Checking the top of the pages for any disclaimers / context info from Atlassian helps.
The non-Atlassian information / videos (and bot agent answers) can be even worse; they are often not kept up to date as automation features improve, and sometimes just appear to be pushing third-party addons...for a price.
