Task-Hierarchy: impact of global change?

Edited

We subscribed to JIRA Premium and have Advanced Roadmaps installed.

We want to use it even more in the future and setup an individual hierarchy for the issues.

I plan a new Issue-Type-Scheme:

  • Initiative
  • Phase
  • Epic
  • Story
  • Task
  • Sub-Task

Right now my (global) hierarchy for the issues looks like:

  • Initiative
  • Epic
  • Task
  • Sub-Task

When I edit the new hierarchy, I get a warning, that this would affect all existing projects. Besides a few, we are not working with any big hierarchy in our daily business.

What can be the impact of the change? Can I setup me new hierarchy or is there any BIG issue with that?

Hi @Moritz Conjé

In the projects you are using the current hierarchy the parent field will be cleared where it had values referencing Epic and child, as I expect you want to add the level Phase in your hierarchy between Initiative and Epic.
