Switch filter by default setting change

Fuad Hasanli October 1, 2019

Hi,

Need some help. When we open Issues in Jira Software server by default filter shows Only open issues. But one of the project managers wants to see not Open issues by default, but All issues. Is it possible to change default setting for one project?

Hi @Fuad Hasanli

Not possible as far as I know - there's an open suggestion for this in Cloud JRACLOUD-71176 - couldn't locate one for Server, but there are similar ones for editing this option such as JRASERVER-65785

If the Project Manager is opening this from the Project screen only, there's not much you can do. However, if it's when opening Jira itself you could:

  • Have the user change their home page. They need to click their profile icon (top-right) and select a new home page to Dashboard or Issue Navigator. For example you could have a dashboard setup to show all issues for their project
  • Add a bookmark to the "All Issues" view URL on the project - then open Jira via the bookmark.

^ Not exactly the same but would allow a direct link to what they're looking for for one project.

Hi Fuad,

how did you manage to add the extra filters (e.g. Overdue (CGS) ) under "switch filter"?

Would you describe me the way a bit more detailed?

Is there a way (as admin) to make something like this available to the whole project WITHOUT having the team members to save the filter as favorites?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Dirk
