Hi,
I have a project in which I already have a couple of swimlanes. I created a new swimlane, based on JQL label. But when i assign that label to a ticket, the swimlane is not appearing on the board.
It is a Classic Software Project, not Next-Gen.
The ticket has only one label, not multiple, so the order should not matter.
The ticket IS visible in the project.
i already have two other swimlanes (based on label) and if i assign the label condition of another swimlane, it DOES become visible in that swimlane.
I can immediately think of two reasons why this might happen.
The first is that the ticket has already been picked up in the JQL for a swimlane higher up the list and so it would already be displayed. Swimlanes are mutually exclusive for issues starting with the top defined swimlane and working down.
The second is that label spelling is absolutely critical in the JQL. Remember as well that "label", "LABEL", "Label" are all different labels.
Hope this helps you with your troubleshooting.
Phill
Thank you @Phill Fox for the reply
The first reason you mentioned is not possible as I have only ONE label assigned to that ticket. A ticket can go to a higher swimlane based on priority set in the swimlane setting IF more than one label is assigned to a ticket. that is what my understanding is. correct me if I'm wrong.
As for the second possibility, in order to rule this out. I ran the exact JQL query in the advanced search to ensure there are no mismatches.
Still the issue persists

If you remove the new swimlane from the board, does the issue appear in the "no swimlane" area at the bottom of the board?

swimlane itself is not appearing.
ticket does exist at the bottom of the board (in backlog)

"in backlog"? I think we'll need a screenshot of that, plus the full JQL of the swimlane you're defining and the issue view itself.
