While attempting to mass delete 1000+ records, the job is interrupted.  The screen displays an error alert but provides no description of the error or tools to troubleshoot.  The screen simply has a button to "Acknowledge."  Clicking that returns me to the query screen and only a few records have been deleted.

Deleting issues is a bad idea in and of itself. With that said I expect that doing so on such a large number has a high statistical chance of failing. If the failure continues to occur, I recommend deleting maybe 100-500 at a time.

I don't disagree with you on the deletion of issues.  Unfortunately it's a client requirement so I need to accommodate it.  It would be helpful if Atlassian Support could review the log files to help identify which records are responsible for the failure.  It is more that 2000 issues to delete and the interface to select them makes it a pain to manually select.
