Sub-tasks are not displayed on the board however are part of the project's issue types.

Hi Atlassian Community,

I have a peculiar question regarding my board: the sub-tasks are simply not shown on the board and are not part of the issue type drop-down:

When I navigate to the boards settings, I see subtasks there:

 

The difference to other issues displayed on the board is the different workflow. Unfortunately I can't update the workflow for sub-tasks although I am a project admin and org admin in Jira.

Do you have any ideas, how to include subtasks on the board?

Hello @Alis Yasiuchynskaya 

You appear to be working with a Team Managed project based on the screen images you provided. You can confirm this by looking at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left where it will say the project is either Team Managed or Company Managed.

If it is the case that you are working with a Team Managed project,  Sub-tasks will show on the board and be selectable in that Type list only when you change the Group By option to Subtasks.

Is it a Team managed project or Company managed project?

If Company managed then follow these steps:

• In board settings; Set swimlanes to stories, not queries.

The sub-tasks might be being filtered out of the board, which we fixed using a better filtering:

• Filter tasks using issuetype in (Task, Sub-Task) OR issuetype in (standardIssueTypes(), subTaskIssueTypes()).
