Hello,
we are using the sub-tasks a lot, so at the board view we use the "Group by->sub-task". Now, we only want to see the tasks and sub-tasks for one epic, so we use the given filter and select the required epic. But doing this, only the tasks without sub-task, which belong to the selected epic, are shown. But the tasks, which belong to the epic and have sub-tasks, are not shown. And of course the sub-tasks are also not shown.
I gues, the problem is, that there is no connection between sub-tasks and epics and if "Group by->sub-task" is chosen, tasks with sub-task don't have influence on what is shown.
Does anyone has a solution for this problem or is this a bug?
My expectiation would be, that with active "Group by->sub-task" and selected epic filter, all tasks belonging to that epic and also their sub-tasks are shown. So there also would be a connection between the sub-task and the epic.
When I use Group By > Subtask and select an Epic to filter by, I do see all the tasks that belong to the Epic, both the ones that do and do not have sub-tasks.
I end up with a swimlane for each issue that has sub-tasks with cards for the sub-tasks displayed in that swimlane, and then the issues that don't have sub-tasks are shown below.
What are you seeing? Can you provide a screen image and details about issues you think should display that are not displaying?
Thanks for the quick response. I guess what you show is, what I would expect. But when I do this, it looks different.
In the first picture I activated Group By > Subtask with no epic filter. There is one Task with subtask and one without, both belong to the Epic Test.
Now activate also the epic filter for Epic Test and the task with the subtask disappears and only the task without subtask is shown.

You also have an assignee filter activated. To whom is the sub-tasks parent task (SFA-51) assigned? And to whom is the Epic assigned?
In my scenario both of those are Unassigned.
I don't know for sure if the Assignee filter will have an impact. I am just looking for differences between your scenario and my attempt to replicate it.

Epic, all Tasks and the sub-task are assigned to me (so all the same person).
I just tested it without the assignee filter and the result is still the same for me, I still don't see the task with the sub-task.

Tried on different boards with different epics, with different assignee and without, it's always the same. If I use Group by>Sub-Task and activate an epic filter, all Tasks with sub-tasks dissappear, even if they belong to the selected epic. So the Group by>Sub-Task is useless, but also needed because we use a lot of sub-tasks.

Since I am not able to replicate the issue in my environment and nobody else has responded, I would recommend that you contact Atlassian support directly. With access to your instance they may be able to discover a setting that needs changing or determine if it is a bug.
