When moving the jira to do issues from one project backlog to other project, i selected retain custom field values. All stories went into issue list rather to show under backlog? Why? How can check them into backlog?

Hi @Sudini Reddy and welcome to the Community!

The list, issues, calendar and board are all just views on the same issues in the same project.

The backlog is a part of the board view that matches certain criteria for the issues to be visible. In short, the issues are in your project, but probably they don't match the board configuration for them to be displayed.

I am - for a moment - going to assume that the project you moved your issues into is a company managed, software project. And on top of that, I am going to make another bold assumption that your board is a kanban board. If so, and you can select the Backlog view, near the top right in that view select "configure board" and check the columns page. Make sure that all statuses from your project workflow(s) are mapped to statuses and that the status that represents your project backlog is mapped to the backlog column of the board.

If any of my assumptions were wrong, please share a couple of screenshots from your setup, and a bit more details about your project and board types, so we can assist with a bit more background.

Hope this helps!
