Hello!
I'm trying to make an automation that will stamp the Reporter field on a ticket with the value from a custom field I've created.
I've got a Slack workflow for my Sales reps to use to quickly file support tickets. In that form it asks for their email address which then gets stamped to a field called "Ticket Reporter" when the ticket is created in Jira. I want to stamp the Reporter on the tickets created by this automation with that user but nothing I've tried so far is working. I think what I probably have to do is find the account ID for the email address they fill in but I can't seem to figure that part out.
I've done a ton of looking around, and the most promising article I've found is this one, but I wasn't able to get the solution proposed to work for me.

I think it's because all of the people that use this Slack workflow are already "customers" so using the Add Customer Action doesn't feel like the right path.
I've also tried not having the Ticket Reporter field stamped with an email, and just using the first and last name and that also didn't work for me. This feels like it should be so much easier and perhaps I'm making this more difficult by missing something super obvious. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm still pretty new at this :)
Cheers!
Hi Maegan,
No, you can't copy an email into the Reporter field - it will need to be the user account ID or will need to come from another User picker type field.
