I exported a number of issues from one instance of Jira and am trying to import them to another instance. I keep getting this error: "For the CSV import to be successful, you must specify a CSV header row that corresponds to the Project name."
On the Setup screen of the Import Wizard, when given the Import to Project option, I selected the radio button "Defined in CSV." I have columns in my CSV titled "Project name" and "Project key," and every row in my CSV has the same value per column.
This CSV was created by Jira when I exported issues, so I cannot figure out why Jira won't accept this CSV file.
How do I specify a CSV header row that corresponds to the Project name, and what exactly does that mean anyway?
Hi Wade,
When importing the CSV, you will need to be sure you map those columns to the correct field. The name of the column is not as important as that it's mapped correctly.
On the 'Map fields' screen, it should appear like this (with project name and key mapped):
For each piece of data that you want to import, it will need to be mapped as above.
Feel free to send a screenshot if what you're looking at doesn't look like that.

Hi Morgan, As you can see, I have mapped according to how I understand the mappings should be. Still lost as to what to do now.

When you select Project name, is there only one option to select from?
I'm noticing that Name is capitalized, while none of the others are (same in the version of Jira I'm using) which makes me think it could be a custom field with the same name.
