Does anyone know if there is roadmap for being able to create a JIRA ticket from a message thread in Slack. This would be so useful to answer enquiries and internal support messages so that the message creator knows the enquiry is logged/being handled.
While you can do it in the channel, the creation is disconnected from the message.
AND when I create a ticket from slack, I would like the option to check a box for options such as:
This is possible with the standard Atlassian / Slack app :(https://www.atlassian.com/partnerships/slack)
In the top right of the Slack message, click the three dots (More actions) and you should see "Create issue from Jira Cloud" which is an action that is provided by the app.
I didn't find it initially so I wanted to share with others, cheers!
Various options including:
"Add to board" wouldn't really work - you'd have to know which filter you want a ticket to be part of (according to what the board points at) and then introduce some logic for that.
Top / back of backlog you'd probably have to build some logic using something like Automation for Jira.

Hi Brad,
I understand that you are wanting to be able to use the Slack integration with Jira Cloud to create issues within a threaded conversation. I wasn't able to find an existing feature request for this yet.
I did come across another feature request to be able to have slack return to a thread for updates on an issue over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/API-342 but admittedly, I don't think this is at all what you are looking for but it feels at least partially related.
That API project is open, meaning you can create suggestion type issues in that project for features that you might want to see for this integration. Just be sure to select the Component of "Jira Cloud for Slack" so that this request is routed to the proper team. I would recommend reviewing our Implementation of New Features Policy as well, just to help set expectations on what Atlassian will prioritize in regards to new features.
I hope you find this helpful.
Andy
