Setting Server.XML for end-to-end SSL through proxy server

Because of security requirements, I need to run SSL between the proxy server and Jira. I am not sure how I set up the Server.xml for this. Should I be using the connector that is configured for direct SSL to Jira or the Proxy Server connector or some other configuration?
