I used to be able to update JSM issue type (and project) icons by following these steps:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-use-an-svg-image-as-an-avatar-for-an-issue-type-in-jira-1055689121.html

But not anymore. I've tried playing around with the DB avatars table in all ways possible but still not getting any luck. Anyone know how to work this around?

PS: Also if you can Vote and Comment on  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-43512

in order to gather more interest I would also appreciate it!

It was actually an issue with the SVG file! When I tried with a "plain SVG" format it worked!

It seems like the ability to update custom SVG icons for issue types in JSM 10.3 might have changed or been restricted in recent updates. If modifying the DB avatars table isn't working anymore, it could be due to changes in how Jira handles these configurations.

You might want to consider reaching out to Atlassian support directly for clarification or potential workarounds. Additionally, voting and commenting on the linked Jira issue is a good step to highlight the demand for this feature.
