Roadmap gadget search searches for the wrong project

fridok January 19, 2021

Say, you have the jira roadmap gadget on your dashboard and you monitor five different projects. For every open release a progress bar is shown with a green colour part for issues that have been closed and a red colour part for issues that have not yet been closed.

It used to be that you could click on either the red part of the bar or on the green part of the bar and you got the corresponding results presented as a list of issues.

Now, when you click on the bar, you can see a URL for the search is produced (you see it at the bottom  of your browser when you hover over the bar), but before the issues are shown, the URL is re-written by Jira to instead show issues of the last project that had been picked on the "Projects" menu.

In my installation for instance, the URL while hovering over the bar could be

https://intranetz.atlassian.net/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true/issues/?jql=project+%3D+%22Hafas+Print+Fahrplanb%C3%BCcher%22+AND+fixVersion+%3D+4.0.0+AND+resolution+is+not+EMPTY

and then Jira rewrites this and forwards the browser to this URL:

https://intranetz.atlassian.net/issues/?jql=project%20%3D%20%22Hafas%20Print%20Bahnhofstafeln%22%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%204.9.7%20ORDER%20BY%20updated%20DESC

which is another project and another release progress bar within the gadget.

I consider this a bug. It worked for years but seems now to be broken.

Hi @fridok

Yup, that looks like a defect and I just reproduced your results with Chrome Browser. It appears that whatever the last search was run is being shown rather than the selected release set from the gadget.

I did a quick check and did not see this in the public backlog.  Please consider asking your site admin to submit this as a defect:

Hi Bill,

thanks for trying and being able to reproduce this behaviour.

I reported this as a bug, as you suggested, and it turned out to be already filed under bug id JRACLOUD-75649.

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-75649

I hope they fix it soon.
