Trying to see how others are doing this... The roadmap function is tied to a projects main filter, which has to be edited to display less items so that the feature will work properly (too many issues essentially wont display).
What are you doing to limit the scope of the issues in your main board filter without affecting your backlogs and associated functions on your project? I find that if limit issues by created date of a year (which is what the documentations suggests) you essentially have no visibility to some items in the backlog and associated areas (unless you create a custom filter to view all items in your backlog and such).
