Following instructions everywhere. Still have difficulty locking down truly limited, view only access to a project we want to share with a customer. Using Jira Cloud.

Set up people, groups, permissions. Created new role. But - the role that was created is not available to choose from as these instructions would suggest at the Project/People page. Only roles available are administrator/member/viewer - cannot see the role that was newly created.
Aside from fact that instructions for this reason and others seem incomplete or outdated - the main security problem I still have is that new users in the new group with viewer role in the new project can still create new projects, see lists of other users, filters, etc.
Are there more clear instructions on how to set up project access for customer for whom we want VIEW only access to the project and its issues.
