We have duplicated customer facing project boards and internal project boards with tickets cloned across multiple projects. I would like to strip them back to a single source of truth and reduce the duplicated backlogs. However, I would need to restrict the comments on a ticket to internal users only. I can see there is a possible way to do this but it appears I would need to set the automation trigger for each status and if an external user is 'watching' a ticket, they'll receive an email notification with comments before the automation is executed.
Is there another way to manage this? Our customers want visibility in JIRA but we need to be able to keep comments private for internal discussions only. I want to move away from external facing boards as they often require extra time managing them.
Hi @colleen.urquhart ,
If customers have view access to the project tickets (i.e. Browse permission), that will auto grant them view access on the comments.
So the workarounds are:
Hello, Good day. Users can restrict comments manually(based on project role or user group), without using automation as well. Please refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/add-restricted-comments-on-jira-962353957.html. Thanks
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
