Rendering a larger thumbnail in Jira comments

Jordan Meeks May 27, 2021

Hello all,

Some of our users are asking if we can increase the sizes of a thumbnail in the comments section in Jira. I believe that the default thumbnails are set to 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. What they are wanting done is a % scale so that the thumbnail displayed is large than this 200x200, but they want it to maintain the aspect ratio like 1280 x 720.

Basically they just want the image to display larger and maintain it's aspect ratio in the comments so that they can get a good look at the image without having to click it and view it larger. For the # of images they need to review in these comments they say it will save them a good deal of time.

Any info is appreciated. This is currently an on-prem Jira instance in our DC, not cloud.
