Remove permission to delete issues

Francisco Menéndez May 28, 2019

The default permision scheme allows to delete issues to Service Desk Team.

By editing the permission I can add new roles. But I can't remove the role Service Desk Team.

Obviously, deleting an issue is a bad practise. How can I remove this permission for Service Desk Team role?

Thank you.

You can remove someones ability to Delete issue by going to project > project settings > permissions and edit the permissions for "Delete issues".

Note you posted this under Jira Questions but it appears you are talking about JSD. Regardless, the instructions are the same.

This is false actually -

When a user clicks Actions from the ... menu -they can search for Delete and still Delete issues.

I am looking for a way to disable that, as that action should not show up on that menu through a search.

And like magic, the Delete Option is no longer there

I've realized my mistake.

Instead of Edit, I have to use Delete. Then, I can remove the roles that I consider that don't have to be able to delete issues.

Thank you very much for your help, Jack.
