We are using both the BigPicture and BigGantt add-ins in our JIRA environment. However, in a lot of our projects we don't need these and having their blank sections in the project is taking up space and we need to get rid of them for some projects, is there somewhere you can go to configure which projects these apply to? Thanks, I'm still pretty new to JIRA so any help would be great!
Hello there Matthew,
Thanks for your inquiry.
With the release of the latest version, we have implemented a WBS Panel to BigGantt and BigPicture (beta) Cloud, as it was a feature available for our Server users for awhile now.
We are aware of the fact that the large blank space left out after WBS is disabled can be a little annoying and seem obsolete, therefore we've already prepared a hot-fix which allows administrators to fully confiigue a Work Breakdown Structure module, including a possibility to switch the panel OFF.
On the behalf of SoftwarePlant, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Please, await the upcoming plugin update which will give you much more control over the WBS expansion.
Kind Regards,
Piotr of SoftwarePlant
Wonderful sound great! Thanks so much for your reply! If you wouldn't mind reaching out to me when that is ready I would really appreciate it. mtaylor@docutech.com

Hi Piotr, can you please tell me how to disable the WBS panel on the JIRA Issues view?
I really need to switch it off altogether, but if I can just make it blank for now, that will work for now.
thank you

Hi Ericka!
Glad you found it. Please use it responsibly. ;)

Hey there Matthew,
Maybe it's too late (or too early - depending on the environment which you use), but the ability to completely switch the feature OFF should be out by now. If you happen to have trouble with disabling it, please let me know or let us know over our ServiceDesk.
Cheers everyone,
Piotr of SoftwarePlant

Hi @Piotrek Romanczyk [SoftwarePlant]
We are using a Cloud Jira account and I have installed BigPicture and I am unable to find the setting to switch the view off in the Issue details view. Could you please help me find the same and turn it off in that view.
Thanks,
Shailesh

Thanks for the quick response @Ericka Samuels. There are so many settings now in the new Jira Cloud... I kind of get lost..!
Not to mention, I have now found the settings and successfully toggled them.

I hope you can find a way to enable the "Enable WBS when issue is not in any Program" toggle for Cloud users. This is exactly the toggle I need in order to get rid of developer frustration with big empty space on the issue screen. I will likely have to disable the widget site-wide just because I can't flip this toggle :-(

Hi @Joe Cross unfortunately due to some limitations which Big Picture application encounters in the Jira Cloud environment, the app itself loses the ability to 'Disable WBS when issue is not in any Program'. Its checkbox is marked as 'populated' and greyed out. This feature has to stay 'ON' and the WBS Panel in Jira Issue View will keep appearing to Jira users who display current issue.

I received so many complaints that I had to turn off the BigGantt widget globally. Users also want to turn off the BigTemplate widget. It takes a long time to load and sometimes shows a load error. Is it possible to turn it off like the BigGantt widget?

For Latest Jira Cloud versions following is the procedure:
Site Administration >> Jira >> Apps >> WBS Widget Configuration: Turn off option Enable WBS on issue page

I can't find anyway to remove from a specific project, do you have any screenshots

same question. Can I do this on a project-by-project basis?

I'm pretty sure you can't do it on a project-by-project basis.

Found out how. The UI isn't very intuitive. Under Jira Settings | Apps...choose WBS Widget Configuration. If you deselect Enable WBS in all Jira Projects only then are you presented with the option to turn it on/off for every project. Would be much better if they always showed all the projects in an enabled/disabled state based on the selection of that single button.
Repeat for Skills Widget Configuration.
