Recommendation for reporting tool

Hey Community,

just recently we have finsished building our service desk in JIRA. Now, that it is working just smoothly we are looking for good reports. The build-in reporting tool doesn't fit our interest very well, as only specific data can be shown.

Today I treied out several reporting tool on the market (like eazyBI, AOI, Pivot, etc.) but still none of them seemed to be able to generate the reports we were looking for. It is very possible that I just haven't been able to manipulate the data due to no experience with these applications. I would love to here your recommendations and experiences on what reporting we could use based on our needs. Here are a few use cases we are looking for:

1) detailed time spent analysis

we have a few custom fields: labour time, travel time (one way) and travel time (back). we have an automation rule set (via automation for jira add-on) that triggers if one if those fields are filled and automatically protocolls the given time in the worklog.

we also have a custom field "technician" (user picker). it is also filled automatically with the current assignee when the status changes to a specific status and the assignee is in the custom group "technicians".

In our service desk the assignee changes very fast, for example if the technician has solved the problem on the customer's sitem, before everything else, he changes the status to done or something similar. via another automation rule the assignee changes to one of the group "administration". so it is possible, if the technician now enters the times spent, he is not the assignee of the issue.

we want to have a report (bar chart would be very nice) in which the logged times breaked down in labour and travel time and are shown for each technician in total (all issues during a specific time frame)

for a better visualization, please see the attachmentScreenshot (4).png

we want to have a monthly, maybe weekly report of those hours. but can't I can't even build report shown all logged hours for all the issues... :(

2) issues by contact

we have the "atlas CRM" add-on in which we have imported our customer base. in atlas there is the possibility to have contacts and companies saved (each contact has to belong to a specific company). "company" and "contact" are searchable via JQL.

no we want to have a monthly report of all the closed issues broken down to the different contacts (if it is possible, grouped by the company)

and a report of all time spent (in a pie chart) broken down to the different companies.

i haven't found a way to do so with any application... can someone give me a hand?

Depends how deep you want to dig into the data. if you want a full blown analytic tool, easzyBi is your go to tool.

my problem with eazyBi is that I cannot find the menu to add a custom field value to a row a collumn… but as i am mainly working with custom fields, this is crucial.

you need to go the edit the source data and then select how you want to add the custom field - Dimension, Measure or Property
